Breast ultrasound uses sound waves to create detailed images of breast tissue and help evaluate lumps or other changes. This noninvasive exam does not use ionizing radiation and may complement mammography when recommended by your healthcare provider.

Comprehensive Diagnostic Imaging
Kidney Scan
A noninvasive ultrasound that provides images of the kidneys to help assess their size and structure and investigate concerns such as stones, cysts or a blockage.
Gallbladder Scan
An ultrasound of the gallbladder and nearby bile ducts to help evaluate gallstones and other structural changes that may be associated with upper abdominal discomfort.
Liver Scan
A focused ultrasound that examines the liver’s size, shape and tissue appearance. It helps your healthcare provider evaluate structural changes and investigate symptoms or abnormal blood test results.
Thyroid Scan
A noninvasive ultrasound of the thyroid gland in the neck to assess its size and examine nodules or lumps. The scan provides detailed structural images without ionizing radiation.
Abdomen Scan
An ultrasound that evaluates organs in the upper abdomen, including the liver, gallbladder, kidneys, pancreas and spleen. It helps investigate abdominal pain, swelling and other concerns without ionizing radiation.

Let's hear from the patient
This is from a patient who had just had a mammogram 3 months ago, but the mammogram didn't catch the tumor. Breast R Us picked it up within 5 seconds of looking.
In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I want to give a deep heartfelt THANK YOU to Breasts R Us in Macon for their exceptional commitment to women’s health.
Having a BRCA II gene variant, along with a family history of BC, I am considered “high risk” and get an Ultrasound in addition to the 3D mammogram (which was recommended by serval of my medical team)
My last routine mammogram was perfectly normal and I chose to do my routine ultrasound at Breast R Us because it was quick & convenient.
I knew immediately that something was detected. (Been here before enough to know). Susan was fantastic though and although I was worried - she helped me get through that “not knowing” panic Got the results from the radiologist the next day and went straight to my primary for a referral to an Oncologist. Insurance wanted a 3D Mammogram to compare to previous one (nothing showed on either) Lump was clear as a bell on the Ultrasound, but not the Mammogram.
It was very small, and deep near my sternum - almost impossible to feel - without that ultrasound - no telling how long it would’ve gone undetected. After biopsy, we found it was a Papilloma- which almost always is recommended to remove due to their nature of progression. Shamecca, Susan and team were a strong support system for me during the process. I can't THANK them enough!
Also, know your history of Cancer and be proactive in your screenings!
